Our Story

We are the Nelson Family, est. March 30, 1996. After meeting on a blind date, it was love at 4th or 5th sight and the rest is history! We married 3 years later, moved to Atlanta for 2 years, moved to Tampa for 7 years (where we started our family) and then settled in Auburn.

We are a family of 4, Brett will be 11 in May and Jared is 9 1/2 plus a black lab named Bella and an orange tabby named Peyton.

We love our family, we love to live life, we love to travel, and most importantly, we love God. That's just a little about us...we hope you enjoy our blog.

I love to cook.  And my family loves to eat!  We are a perfect combination!  Not only do I enjoy cooking, I love that the older my boys get, the more intestered they become in cooking (I think it's all of the cool kitchen gadgets that grab their attention!).

* Bacon Cheese Grits Casserole
 1 1/2 C grits, uncooked
 3 C shredded cheddar cheese
 3 eggs, beaten slightly
 5 slices of cooked bacon, crumbled
 1/3 C milk

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Cook grits on stovetop according to package directions.  Remove from heat; add 2 C cheese, eggs, milk and 3 slices of crumbled bacon.  Stir to mix well.  Pour into a casserole dish.  Top with remaining cheese and bacon. 
Bake for 20 minutes.
